It was a rather hot day, even for Green-Leaf, and the sun was beating down mercilessly. It could draw sweat out of anything down on the island, and even the trees seemed to be dripping, though it was sap, not sweat. Thankfully, the wind was blowing, though now enough. It was just the right amount to ruffle the pelt of a cat about to faint from the warmth, especially one with a thick or fluffy coat. It could drag through the hairs on one's back, cooling them off only slightly.
The birds were out chirping happily. They perched high in the trees, their chest stuck out as if to show how important they were, and the sang to the whole world below. It could make you happy just listening to them, and almost forget about the heat until the wind died away. The forest was busy. Tiny animals that were prey were scampering around, and if you listened very closely, you could hear the sounds of twigs breaking beneath thier small weight.
Suddenly, almost as if sliding out from one of the trees, a cat appeared from the shadows of the forest. His very appearance was one enough to make anyone quiver with terror. His light amber eyes were marbled with a white, and it was if he was piercing you from behind his sightless stare. And, if that was not enough, his dark tabby coat was sprinkled in dirt and mud and any kind of filth. The thick hairs were matted down and flies hung around him. He had a large build, very muscles, and not one you would want to cross. His stance was solid.
This cat's name was Fimus. He had named himself when he was just a little kit living all by himself. He was one with an independant nature, not one full of love or pity. The first and only thing that mattered was himself and keeping himself alive. Other cats were just like prey, and his appearance was one of no concern. He was not a cat that one would like to cross at all. Fimus hated the heat. He hated how the wind seemed to play with him, saying here I am, but now I am gone. He hated the light near the stream. And he hated the birds singing with happiness.
Everything was just to fake. Fimus was very thirsty and needed water, but he would make it quick, so he could run into the darkness of the forest and get away from the other cats who would tease or laugh at him. Fimus ran very fast out of the shadows of the woods and into the bright sunlight near the river. He carefully lowered his head down the the rushing water, and lapped up the refreshing water. It tasted cool on his tongue and felt nice going down his throat. Fimus stayed there, frozen, for a while, enjoying the coolness of the river after many days in the scorching heat of the sun.
Once Fimus's thirst was quenched, he raised his body from the clear waters of the stream, where you could see the pebbles below, and started walking back towards the blissful peace, darkness, and cool of the trees. He raced towards it and was almost there when he heard a noise. It was of a tree branch snapping, breaking under something's weight. Fimus froze and stared in the direction that the noise had come from. He was caught.

Heat burned down on the thin trees, one cat had climbed the highest tree he could. Escaping the heat, begging StarClan that the wind would pick up to chase away the heat. Slowly the wind did build up, but only for a short while, teasing the tom-cat.
With a gentle growl of annoyance he moved on the limb he was perched at, carefully easing his way closer to the edge. Sounds of bird calls, made his ears flick with a sly chuckle. With his moons of travel he always loved the sound of birds, their loud chirps called all their friends. He wished he knew what they said, perhaps they had secrets. Perhaps they knew what had happened to the world. That was a gift he would give anything for.
Down below him was the gentle rushing of the river, he already made a few trips down to t's cool water. Enjoying each trip with a little bounce of kit like behavior. Yet something moved, his observant attitude quickly brought his attention to a black cat. Opening his jaw to taste the air he was frustrated then the wind blew away the scent.
Watching is slight curiosity he was puzzled as the cat bolted quickly to enjoy the water. Rabbit had enjoyed the water many times, always taking his time. yet something about this cat puzzled him. He looked frantic and worried as if something was out to get him.
Edging out to get a better look at the strange cat, he dug his claws into the small branch. Just then the cat moved turning around to face the darkness of the trees. Rabbit almost called out to him but the branch gave out under him. Snapping in the middle it cracked loudly bringing Rabbit down.
Spinning in the air he braced himself for the landing, pleased once he stuck it. Just to the side of the tom-cat. Shaking his entire body he licked down his shoulder fur. Slowly he approached the cat, noticing it was a tom that stunk. Hiding the disgust written all over his face he smiled.
"The Name is Rabbit, whats yours? He asked in a pleasant tone.

Fimus had heard the sound of a twig breaking, alerting that something was here, but what he didn't realize was that the something was another cat falling out of a tree with a thud, but managing to land on all fours. The cat was slightly hidden by the shadows, but his silhouette still showed. Fimus glanced nervously around, he didn't want to face another cat, not now, and he briefly wondered if her should make a run for it. But then the cat got closer, his gaze set on Fimus, and he knew that there was nothing he could do.
The cat walked with an air of ease and grace, but to Fimus is looked like arrogance. He instantly hated the cat, as he hated every other cat around him. Fimus was differently a cat to live by himself. When the cat was within hearing range, he spoke. Fimus noticed the look of disgust he held, and then Fimus realized that it was him. He looked down at his dirty and smelly pelt, but it didn't bother him. The other cat tried to hide his face, but it didn't really work. The cat eased himself into a sitting position and spoke with a pleased sort of tone. "The Name is Rabbit, whats yours?"
Fimus wondered if he should answer at all, maybe he could pretend that he was mute. But finally, after many moments of uncomfortable silence, he opened his maw, and cracked words flew out of them from not talking for many days. "I am Fimus. What do you want?" His voice was very contrary to Rabbit's, where his had been nice, Fimus's suggested that any should run away from his voice of disgust and his blind stare.
Fimus raised his head, pinpointing Rabbit by sound, the steady breathing that he was making. Fimus found it comforting and annoying. He looked at Rabbit, but it was if he was looking passed him. "I am allowed to roam these places, so you cannot shoo me away, I would like to see you try!" Fimus spoke with contempt, his voice also cracking in places. He always assumed the worst, but it kept he alive, to have low standards. Fimus then raised himself to his full height and build. He had thick bones and a solid stance, and then mix in the messy pelt and the milky eyes and he was a very scary figure. Now this Rabbit would never doubt him again.
Fimus glared at the other cat. Hopefully now he had gotten his point across, that he didn't want Rabbit to be here and that he was a very unsociable cat? He thought so.

Rabbit waited for a reply, wondering if the cat could even understand him. It seemed he didn’t or couldn’t talk. It was no problem for Rabbit, for the tom had lived with a mute. He knew whys of talking to him. The silence the stood over the two was almost unbearable for the brown top cat. He hadn’t it, he was very talkative for a tom-cat. Finally when he did spoke, his voice came out raw and harsh. I am Fimus. What do you want? Rabbit looked him, his head tilited to one side. The tone of the cat suggest he was in some ways panicked.
Rabbit nodded, unsure of what to say next. The tom-cat seemed harsh and rude, something Rabbit started to admire. When his gaze slowly moved to Rabbit, he noticed something not right about his eyes. The way they seemed to pin him to the spot. Not by the intensity but the lack of. He seemed to look past Rabbit, something that made him slightly uncomfortable.
”I am allowed to roam these places, so you cannot shoo me away, I would like to see you try” Fimus’s voice sounding weak, but still holding onto his own. Rabbit watched in slight joy as the tom-cat rose up to his full height. Rabbit didn’t expect a fight, he knew just had a feeling by the way the cat looked at him, he wasn’t in any shape to fight. Yet the body structure of him said different. He was larger then Rabbit, his body made for being brute force. The brown tom-cat tried to remain calm, fighting the urge to flee for a possible fight.
”Fimus, I wouldn’t never shoo you away. I rather help you.” Rabbit did his best to hide the fact he was scared. There was something about the tom-cat that was terrify maybe the eyes. Yet another part of Rabbit wanted to help him. Fimus may be a big cat, but he was blind in a way. He needed help, the way he acted toward the water, wasn’t normal. Perhaps Rabbit could talk to cranky tom-cat into allowing him to help. Surely he didn’t like the life of hiding all the time.

Fimus looked up to face the direction that the noise from Rabbit was coming from- his breathing, his paws scuffling in the dirt, and sometimes the sound of his voice talking. He didn't see Rabbit nod, and he wondered what was taking him so long to reply. Maybe he didn't want to talk to Fimus, didn't want to challenge him. "Good choice..." he thought to himself.
Suddenly, lyrics pierced through the air. Fimus recognized them from the first time that the cat had spoke, that it was Rabbit. Fimus held himself stiffly and listened to the reply. ”Fimus, I wouldn’t never shoo you away. I rather help you.” The tom cocked his head, his blind eyes revolving slowly. "Well, you couldn't, even if you tried," he said in his cracked voice.
But something had disturbed him. Fimus racked his memory and came upon the sentence, I would rather help you. Fimus chuckled, and when he realized his was making noise outloud, he starting laughing louder, in his grainy voice. "You cannot help me, no know can help. My life has been miserable from the start, and no one can change that. Even if you wanted to help me, you couldn't."
Fimus then eyed the forest warily, wondering if he could dash out and make a quick escape, but he wanted to see how this would fold out, what Rabbit, the dashing and handsome young Rabbit, would say. Some more thoughts flashed through Fimus's head. Was Rabbit serious about wanting to help him, or was he just pretending and laughing at him, like everyother cat he had ever met. He suddenly frowned. "I don't need you, I don't need anyone!" The sudden lyrics cracked through the parched air, startling away every living thing in sight, causing terror towards this monster, Fimus.
